The Safety Camera Scheme carries out a number of educational publicity campaigns throughout the year to educate the public about the risks of speeding and red light running and other issues related to this.

Every year, we analyse collision data and develop our campaign strategy to address the issues that factor most. This way, we are responding to

Our key concerns are:

  • Recognising speed limits
  • Red light running
  • Inappropriate speeds
  • Using mobile phones while driving
  • Not wearing seatbelts
  • Driving appropriately for the road conditions/when British Summer Time ends in October

Community and Public Events

In addition to conducting publicity campaigns, our staff also exhibit at community shows and public events to speak to the public, demonstrate how the mobile speed camera works, distribute information and answer your questions. There are so many myths and misconceptions about the cameras and how we operate so we do what we can to address these questions directly.
