Street Sense CD-ROMs Are Streets Ahead

Street Sense CD cover: 12-18 year-old Edition.Street Sense CD cover: 5-11 year-old Edition.

The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Safety Camera Scheme teamed up with the local Road Safety Partnership in 2005 to launch two educational interactive CD ROMs called ‘Street Sense’. ‘Street Sense’ is funded by the Midlands Safety Camera Partnerships and is aimed at one of the most vulnerable groups of road user, children.

There are two editions of ‘Street Sense’, the primary version aimed at the age group 5-11 years old and the secondary version targeting 12 - 18 year olds. The issues highlighted in both versions of the resource vary from speed, cycle safety, safe school journeys, stranger danger to young speeding drivers and the risks of drink driving.

It is hoped that ‘Street Sense’ will be used by teachers and other educational staff across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to remind kids and teens of the dangers they may face on our roads. If you would like to order a copy of the resource, click here.
